Biomes
Seven distinct biomes shape the Corewilds landscape. Each offers unique resources, creatures and challenges.

The Corewilds world is divided into biomes — distinct terrain regions with their own visual style, resources, mob spawns and environmental features. Biomes are generated procedurally and blend at their borders.
Forest
Dense tree coverage with rich soil. Most common starting biome. Features oak and birch trees, berry bushes, mushrooms and fallen logs.
Key Resources: Wood, Soil, Berries, Mushrooms, Seeds
Mobs: Deer, Rabbit, Wolf, Boar, Spider (night)
Grassland
Open flat terrain with tall grass and scattered wildflowers. Good visibility makes it safer for beginners but offers fewer rare resources.
Key Resources: Soil, Grass fiber, Cotton plants, Seeds
Mobs: Rabbit, Cow, Boar, Bird
Desert
Sandy terrain with cacti, sandstone formations and dry riverbeds. Hot and sparse. Contains unique sandstone ores and occasional oasis pools.
Key Resources: Sand, Sandstone, Cactus fiber, Desert ore
Mobs: Scorpion, Ash Revenant, Bird
Snow
Cold biome with snow-covered terrain, frozen lakes and pine trees. Reduced visibility during snowfall. Ice blocks can be collected.
Key Resources: Snow blocks, Ice, Pine wood, Frost ore
Mobs: Wolf, Rabbit, Bird
Mountain
High elevation rocky terrain with steep cliffs and exposed ore veins. Excellent for mining but dangerous to navigate. Cave entrances are common.
Key Resources: Stone, Iron ore, Gold ore, Coal, Mountain herbs
Mobs: Wolf, Bird, Bat (caves)
Cave
Underground biome beneath all surface biomes. Features stalactites, underground rivers, ore veins, Core Shard deposits and ancient ruins.
Key Resources: All ores, Core Shards, Ancient stone, Crystals
Mobs: Bat, Spider, Crawler, Zombie, Skeleton, Flicker Wisp, Ancient Warden
Shore
Coastal biome where land meets water. Sandy beaches, tide pools, driftwood and shallow water areas. Gateway to fishing mechanics.
Key Resources: Sand, Driftwood, Shells, Seaweed, Clay
Mobs: Bird, Marsh Lurker, Fish (via fishing)
Biome Tips
- The Forest is the best starting biome — abundant wood and passive mobs
- Caves are the richest biome for ores and Core Shards but also the most dangerous
- The Shore biome is your gateway to fishing — bring a fishing rod
- Mountain biomes expose ore veins on cliff faces, saving you from digging
- Desert and Snow biomes have unique resources not found elsewhere
- Biome borders often have interesting terrain features and mixed resources
